Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's athletic talent was evident from the moment she began her studies at Los Angeles Baptist High School. In only 10 weeks following her initial attempt, she finished second in the 200 meter sprint during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix was a senior in high school by signing a contract as a professional athlete with the sports company Adidas after which she enrolled in the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic medal in 2004 at the Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. She established an unofficial Junior World Record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, at the Helsinki World Championships, Felix was the youngest world champion for the 200m race. She defended the title at the 2007 World Championships, winning over her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was an avid competitor in Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She was consistently at the top of the podium in every event.
