Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed at Los Angeles, California on the 18th of November, 1985. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister of Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix was an athletically inclined child and discovered her love to sprint during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her first attempt, she finished third in the 200 meters in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished high school in 2003, and became a part of Adidas a contract as a professional athlete. The following year she enrolled at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix took home her first Olympic Medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics that took place in Athens Greece. She broke the Junior World Record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 second. The youngest winner of the 200 meter in the world championships in Helsinki in 2005. She won her medal once again in 2007, defeating the long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix participated in the Olympics at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo regularly placing in the top three places in all her races.
